Submission Guidelines

Submissions:
We wholly welcome and gladly accept submissions of any kind, so long as they adhere to a certain set of guidelines and so long as the work at hand is some type of motion picture; be it short film narratives or documentaries, animations, music videos, webisodes or other.
We do accept feature films, though because of their digital storage size, we reserve our feature film slots to only a few select films that meet a certain quality and caliber. To submit a feature film that exceeds the maximum upload size, pleaseto our feature film submission page.
Submission Guidelines:
When submitting film work to Deadsink, please consider and adhere to the following:
• Work must be a motion picture.
• Submissions can be in most any genres, but we do not allow any short films that contain sexually oriented nudity, sexually explicit content, excessive vulgarity (curse words are allowed, as there is a rating system, but please, be reasonable; no one should be out to beat "Casino"), gratuitous violence (action and violent films, even with gore effects, are allowed, but again, be reasonable), and any other unacceptable material of the like, which we are most all accustomed to by now. Any submissions found in violation of these restrictions will not be considered.
• Work must be original and the submitting party must own the creative rights to the material, unless the submitter has been given permission by the owner of such rights to do so on his or her behalf. Any work found in violation of copyright will be taken down without warning and may be subject to legal ramifications. Any submissions found to violate copyright laws will be rejected. This is especially true for materials that include copyrighted music in which the rights were not acquired by the filmmakers, so please insure that all music is original or that the proper rights have been acquired.
• Material must be in accordance with our Terms and Conditions of Use and Service.
• Submissions must be accompanied by a list of filmmakers (Director, Director of Photography, Editor, Writer, Composer and any other primary positions involved with production), as well as a list of the principle cast. Music video submissions must include the name of the musical artist and song as well.
• Include the type of material being submitted (i.e. short film, animation, music video, webisode, etc.), the genre of the creative work, and the runtime (remember, feature films can be submitted, but are carefully selected for exhibition; please feel free to submit them).
• You must provide a short synopsis of the project. This should be a 1-3 sentence description of the plot and principle characters. Try and keep it partly ambiguous; you don't want to give it all away before anyone sees the film. You may also include tags; this is recommended, but not mandatory. If you do not include your own tags, tags will be applied by Deadsink.
• Work must be of a professional quality and caliber. This goes for both the production value of the project (we want professional material; basically, we want to be able to tell that there was a script, a crew, a shooting schedule, and anything else customary to film production; sorry, no videos of your cat Mittens playing with a ball of string for 3 minutes will be accepted, no matter how cute the cat), as well as the visual and resolution quality (both in regards to how the film was lit and shot, and the quality in which it was rendered for exhibition; the MB limit may be cumbersome, but we cannot display any pixelated work, no matter the quality of the filmmaking; films that are already on other video sites such as Youtube and Vimeo can be submitted by providing the link to the video in the application and are not constricted by our size limit, but theirs).
• If the submission material is in a foreign language (i.e. non-English), English subtitles or dubbing must be included (except for music videos).
• You must be 13 years old or older to view or submit material. You must be 18 years old or older to view or submit material with a "Restricted" rating (click here for further explanation of our rating system). By submitting to Deadsink, you are affirming that you are at least of 13 years of age or that you are at least 18 years of age if submitting "Restricted" rated material.
Submissions must follow these guidelines to be eligible for exhibition on Deadsink.
As always, your privacy is paramount and all submission information, names, emails, synopsis, etc will be kept with the utmost discretion. For more information on your privacy, please visit our Privacy Policy.
